Using the Reading Practice Feature in the Language Lab
Reading Practice
On of the underutilized features in the language lab is reading practice. This feature allows you to record the learners reading and allow them to listen to it after they are finished. The following video gives a good overview and I like the idea of using the projector to display the text to the learners.Creating a playlist in Windows Media Player
Creating a Playlist
Windows Media Player is the default media player in all of the classrooms as well as the language labs, One of the useful features is the ability to create a playlist. A playlist allows to to create a list of tracks to play. You could use this feature to build an activity or assessment using audio tracks from many different title. The following video will go through the steps - in the video he talks a about music tracks but the process is the same for listening tracks. I have also put the instructions on a page that is linked from the main blog page.
